*Benefits of Peppermint Essential Oil*
The myth surrounding Peppermint, or Minthe or Mentha as it was known by the Romans, is fascinating. Peppermint (Mentha) was said to be a nymph, or female spirit, loved by Pluto, the god of the dead. When his queen found about this love, she trampled Mentha. Pluto brought her back to life as Peppermint. So, the more the mint was walked on the sweeter the smell.
Benefits Include:
• Aid in digestive disorders
• Relieves muscle spasms and arthritis
• Clears sinuses and lung congestion
• Treatment of dry skin conditions
• Increased concentration and alertness

It's not enough that soft drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages have been linked to cavities and weight gain, among other negative health consequences. Now comes a study that suggests high daily intake of soft drinks can elevate your risk of developing heart disease.  According to the study, published in the research journal  Circulation, a publication of the American Heart Association, study participants who drank the most sugar-sweetened beverages daily had a 20 percent higher risk of coronary heart disease compared to participants who drank the least. Coronary heart disease, also called coronary artery disease, is characterized by a narrowing of the small blood vessels that lead to the heart. The result: diminished blood and oxygen supply to the heart, which can cause chest pain, shortness of breath and even a heart attack.

By the way, if you think drinking diet soft drinks will get you out of the woods when it comes to health risks, think again: A recent study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine suggests that consuming DIET SOFT DRINKS daily (versus none) increases your risk of suffering a vascular event, such as a stroke, heart attack or even vascular-related death, by a whopping 43 percent. So ditch the sodas and other sugary drinks and think natural and sugar-free: tea or the age-old standby, water.

KEEP UP THIS HABIT

If you already pop a multivitamin—like nearly 50 percent of adults—add this to the list of reasons to maintain that healthy habit: You’ll cut your stress, anxiety, and levels of fatigue, according to new research in Psychosomatic Medicine.Researchers analyzed eight studies of 1,300 adults taking a multivitamin supplement for at least 28 days and found that people who popped multivitamins for at least a month enjoyed a 65 and 68 percent reduction in stress and anxiety, respectively, and reported 73 percent less fatigue.
Getting ample amounts of vitamins and minerals improves the function of enzymes that regulate biochemical processes in the brain that control your mood, and multivitamins provide additional nutrients beyond what you may be getting from your diet, researchers explain.

The researchers found taking multivitamins that supplied high doses of B vitamins—some up to five times the recommended daily allowance—was more strongly associated with this mood bump. “B vitamins are used to convert food into energy, produce stress hormones, and help your nervous system function properly. That means even normal, everyday stress can deplete the body’s supply of B vitamins.
It is important to note here that taking multivitamins is not a substitute for eating healthy, it is a great way to fill in the gaps.

Consider this, whenever you catch an edge snowboarding your body is whipped down (either frontwards or backwards) ending with your head. It's a lot like crack the whip! This abrasive reaction builds stress and tightness in your back, it's no wonder that learning how to snowboard is considered one of the most challenging and painful winter sports. Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and a warm massage therapy with heat packs can go a long way in keeping your alignment from slipping away - leaving your hurting for months. The sooner you get treatment, the more can be done in the way of prevention. Over the long term tight muscles adapt and hold in stress, it is best to help reset them early on
